Deleting your data
Most of this you can do yourself, immediately. Where you cannot, ask us and we will do it within 30 days.
Last updated 14 August 2026.
Disconnect an Instagram, WhatsApp or Telegram account
In Warid, open Channels, choose the channel, and press Disconnect. The access token that let Warid send and receive on that account is deleted at that moment, and nothing further is received.
You can also revoke access from the other end, which does the same thing and does not depend on us: on Instagram, open Settings and privacy → Apps and websites and remove Warid. Conversations already received stay in the inbox until you delete them — see below — because they are the business’s record of its own customer service, not something the connection owns.
Delete a conversation or a contact
In the Inbox, open the conversation and choose Delete from its menu; in Contacts, open the contact and do the same. Both remove the messages and any attached files. This is immediate and cannot be undone.
Delete an entire account and workspace
Write to [email protected] from the email address on the account, saying which workspace you want removed. We will confirm it is you, and then delete the workspace and everything in it: conversations, contacts, files, channel credentials, AI configuration and team memberships.
This happens within 30 days. Copies held in encrypted backups age out on their own cycle and are gone within 90 days; they are never restored to bring deleted data back. We keep only what we are legally required to keep — invoices, essentially — and nothing that contains message content.
If you messaged a business that uses Warid
You do not have an account with us. Your messages are in Warid because the business you wrote to uses it to answer you, and that business decides what to keep — so ask them first: they can delete the conversation themselves, immediately, using the steps above.
If you cannot reach them, or they will not act, write to [email protected] with enough detail to find the conversation — the business’s name, and the phone number or handle you messaged from. We will locate it and act on it within 30 days, and tell you when it is done.
One thing we cannot do: delete the copy held by WhatsApp, Instagram or Telegram. Those are the platform’s own records of a message you sent through it, and only the platform can remove them.
Getting a copy instead
If you want to see or export what is held rather than delete it, ask at the same address. It is the same process and the same 30-day commitment.
